How to update plugins to latest versions?
Once your license is activated, keeping your WooCommerce plugins up-to-date is straightforward. You can update directly from your WordPress dashboard or download the latest version from your account.
Method 1: Automatic Updates via WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)
- Navigate to your WordPress admin dashboard:
- Log into your WordPress site as an administrator.
- Go to the Plugins page:
- Click on “Plugins” in the left sidebar menu.
- Select “Installed Plugins”.
- Check for available updates:
- Look for any plugins showing “There is a new version available”.
- Our plugins will display an update notification when a newer version is detected.
- Update the plugin:
- Click the “Update Now” link below the plugin name.
- Wait for the update process to complete.
- You’ll see a success message confirming the update.
Method 2: Manual Download and Update
If automatic updates aren’t working or you prefer manual control:
- Log into your Store Boost Kit account:
- Visit storeboostkit.com/account.
- Enter your login credentials.
- Navigate to Downloads:
- Click on the “Downloads” tab in your account menu.
- You’ll see all your purchased plugins listed.
- Download the latest version:
- Locate your plugin in the downloads list.
- The plugin name includes the version number (e.g., “Plugin-Name-v2.1.5”).
- Click “Download” to get the latest version file.
- Upload to WordPress:
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
- Click “Upload Plugin”.
- Choose the downloaded zip file.
- Click “Install Now” and then “Activate”.
Understanding Version Numbers
- Current Version: The plugin filename shows the exact version number (e.g., v2.1.5). Always ensure you’re downloading the highest version number available.
- Rollback Options: We maintain two previous versions in your downloads for rollback purposes if you encounter any issues with the latest update.
- Version Compatibility: Each update includes compatibility improvements and bug fixes, so staying current is recommended.
Troubleshooting Common Update Issues
- Update Not Showing:
- Verify your license is still active and hasn’t expired.
- Check that your site can connect to our update servers.
- Try deactivating and reactivating the license.
- Update Fails:
- Ensure you have sufficient server permissions.
- Check available disk space on your hosting account.
- Try the manual download method instead.
- Plugin Conflicts:
- Test updates on a staging site first.
- Deactivate other plugins temporarily to identify conflicts.
- Keep a recent backup before updating.
Best Practices

Test on Staging: Use a staging environment to test updates before applying to your live site.
Update Regularly: Check for updates monthly to stay current with security patches and new features.
